Walk the trails of history in Starved Rock State Park and learn about the rich history on the rock. Learn about Chief Pontiac and the Illinois Tribe from hundreds of years ago, atop an eagles nest lookout above the mighty Illiniois River. There's a lot of walking involved so please come prepared with walking shoes and water on a hot day. There are consessions on site but limited hours. Then head back on route to find the Pontiac Auto Museum with artifacts and classics from Pontiac Motors. Then grab lunch at a legacy STOP for a cold brew and a good burger at Ziggy's Bar. Finally, cap the day off at an Off-Road Park that the family will never forget. Take your own vehicle down some insane terrain or rent if you don't own. Zip line through history and learn more about the area. Give yourself ample time at each STOP to enjoy all each have to offer. Perfect day trip for family fun!
